Make one exception to school policy

Your school-wide rules fit most classes but not this one, or this dancer. What you can change per class, per date and per person, and which rules have no exceptions.

For owners and managers

Fill-ins, catch-ups, try-outs and cancellations are set once for the whole school. Some can be switched off for one class, and some things you can do by hand for one person. A few rules have no exceptions at all.

Who: owners and managers.

For one course#

In the course editor:

SettingUse it when
Missed weeks here can be caught up elsewhere, and this group takes catch-ups offThe block teaches its own material, like a choreography. Off means neither direction: its dancers can't catch up elsewhere, and others can't catch up here.
Ask dancers when a week here is short offYou don't want fill-ins in this group, for example because the teacher balances it themselves.
Offer a try-out on this blockOnly matters if try-outs are offered on Only the blocks I tick.
While they decide whether to joinHold, or don't hold, try-out seats on this block, whatever the school's default.
Price (€)Each course has its own price.

For one open class#

In the open-class editor:

SettingUse it when
Fill-ins for this class: Off for this classNo fill-in requests for this class, including when someone is marked absent.
Try-out class: No try-outs hereThis class never offers a try-out.
Plans allowedOnly some plans may book it, for example an advanced class for Regular and Unlimited only.
Counts towards a member's weekly maximum offAn extra, like a practica, shouldn't use up anyone's weekly classes.
Opens / ClosesThis class opens earlier, or closes sooner before the start.

These switches only turn things off for the class, or narrow them. None can turn on something the school has off: a class can't ask for fill-ins while your school's automation is off.

For one date#

Edit this date changes one lesson's time, room or teacher. Cancel this date calls one off. See Change one date.

For one person#

You want toDo this
Let someone into a full classAdd dancer on that date or course, then Add anyway. The cap goes up. See G08.
Give someone a class or a block freeAdd dancer → Put them in — free.
Charge someone a different priceAdd dancer → Open a place they pay for, and type the amount.
Let someone enrol after enrolment closedAdd dancer on the course.
Give back a catch-up after a no-showOn the register, a manager can choose Give the week back. See Take attendance.
Refund someone outside your cancellation windowRefund… on the payment or enrolment, on their page under Members (not for a credit plan).
Take someone out without refundingRemove, untick Refund €…, then Remove without refunding.

No exceptions#

  • Cancellation windows are the same for every class. A dancer never has to check which class they booked. They can't be set per class or per dancer.
  • Days to pay for a place you hand out is school-wide.
  • A dancer's own choices: their level, role, availability and whether they want fill-in requests. You can see them, not change them.
  • Credits on a course. Credits never pay for courses.
