A teacher who also dances here
Staff who take classes at their own school. Adding a dancer account, switching between staff and dancer, what they pay, and what changes for fill-ins.
For owners, managers and teachers
Plenty of teachers take other people's classes, and plenty of owners dance at their own school. In Dansly that's one account with two sides: staff and dancer.
At Studio Voorbeeld, Mara (the owner) dances in the Tuesday group and is on the Regular plan.
Add the dancer side#
Two ways:
- When inviting someone to your team: tick Also give them a dancer account, so they can book and fill in. See Team.
- For yourself, any time: in the sidebar, choose + I dance here too. The dialog, Add a dancer account here?, explains: "You keep everything you have as staff." Choose Add it.
Switch sides#
After that, the same sidebar button switches between your staff side and your dancer side. The app opens on whichever you used last.
- Staff side: Tonight, your classes, and whatever your role gives you.
- Dancer side: the school's classes to book, your calendar, your payments and profile, and fill-in requests.
As a dancer#
Staff dance on the same terms as everyone else:
- they book and pay like any dancer: credits, a block, or per class. There's no staff discount built in. To give one, add them yourself with Put them in — free, or give them a discount code;
- their dancer profile has its own role, levels and fill-in preferences.
On Members, a teacher who dances shows with their plan, and "teacher · also dances here" under it. A staff member without a dancer side shows as Staff.
Fill-ins#
A teacher with a dancer side can be asked to fill in, like any dancer who fits your Fill-in rules. They're never asked for a class they teach, or one that clashes with something they've booked themselves. Teaching a different class at the same time isn't checked, so they may get a request for an evening they're teaching elsewhere; they can ignore it.
They can turn fill-in requests off in their dancer profile, like anyone.
Notices#
Staff notices and dancer notices are separate: notices about classes they teach arrive on the staff side, notices about their own bookings on the dancer side. When a date they both teach and are booked on changes, they get one notice, the staff one.
Dropping the dancer side#
From the dancer profile, as long as nothing is running at your school: no block, booking or credits. Their staff role is unaffected.
Removing them from the team#
On Team, the menu reads Remove from team (keeps dancer account). They stop being staff and stay a member, with their bookings.
