Notices and activity
Your own notices from the school, and the school's activity log of everything that happened. How they differ, and where to turn notices off.
For owners, managers and teachers
Two lists on one page. Notices are what the school has told you. Activity is everything that happened at your school, whoever did it.
Where: the bell in the top bar shows your latest notices. Its last item, or the full page, is Notifications.
Who: everyone on the team.
Notices#
Things sent to you personally: a class you teach changed, someone claimed a fill-in in your class, a late drop-out, a payment problem, and so on. What you get depends on your role and your Notification settings.
- The tab shows how many are unread, and unread notices are outlined. Mark all read marks them all read.
- Closing the bell marks the notices it showed as read. Older unread ones stay unread until you press Mark all read; opening the page doesn't mark them.
- A notice links to what it's about: the lesson, the member, the page.
- The inbox shows the last 60 days.
- Fill-in notices are hidden while your school's fill-in automation is off.
The same notices can also reach you as a phone push or an email, depending on the topic and your settings. The inbox always has them.
Activity#
The school's own log, newest first: bookings and cancellations, enrolments, fill-in requests and claims, attendance, changed and cancelled dates, ended classes, settings your team changed. Each line says who did it and when, and links to the lesson where there is one.
Older pages back through it. The link to the page can be shared with someone on your team.
Activity isn't a notice: nothing in it was sent to anyone. It's where you look when someone asks "who cancelled Thursday?".
Tonight shows the latest few lines of activity in its side panel; see Tonight and Schedule.
Settings#
Settings at the top of the page opens your personal Notification settings. They're yours alone. They don't change what dancers, or the rest of your team, receive.
What the notices aren't#
There's no way to send a message to a class or a dancer from Dansly. To tell dancers about a changed or cancelled date, use Change one date or Cancel one date: those notify everyone booked.
